THE CHARACTORISTICS OF
QUALITY ZEBRA DOVE
Breeder pay specific attention to the shapes of a bird's tail, beak, nostrils and eyes, all of which have a bearing on singing quality. The characteristics of quality Zebra Dove are as these follow, 1. The long neck/long throat dove would give a good class A voice; the short neck dove would give a class C voice. Their throat is an important part for dove to make voice, when dove call and coo their throat will expand and blow the air from inside. 2. A dove nose with a nostrils like pigeon's nostrils would give massive volume voice 3. There is middle line on dove's bill appeared like a track or deep line, this kind of bird have no good last note. And the dove with thick bill would give good voice quality. 4. A small volume dove usually found on a dove that have thick lower beak. And if the tip of its beak appears in a sharp tip, it will give a dry but massive voice. Have a close examining on their tongue, the small tongue’s usually a class A dove and the big tongue is a class C dove. 5. It rarely been found that small body dove have class A voice, but many big body dove can have classC voice and some have classA voice but these are depend on genetic lines. 6. A dove with good shape bill and each upper and lower bill match properly, have long nostrils; long beaks would give a good voice. 7. Their chest muscle is also important, it can tell their abilities to coo with quality voice. A good health dove usually comes with full and broad chest. They can call and coo for a good voice. the prominet keel bone should probably not be purchased, it reflect it's abilities in metabolism about converting muscle to energy. 8. See plumages on both of their wings, the
line on plumage are placed in-line. It means this dove have an aggressive
behavior and not fear to other dove (see picture).

It’s important for the one who want to attend a dove competition. You need to have a sense on listening of each dove. Some like a class C type some like class A type and this is a personal perceptions. When you choose dove for competition you need to consider the overall display call. Each of first note, middle notes and last notes must be placed properly together with a good resounding voice. Many dove lovers failed to slect a good dove because they have a small experience and not listen to others comment. You need to learn and compare dove and can tell future of each dove.
